The 2009 Women's Alabama Golf Association State Senior Championship is open to all women golfers who:
1. Are a member in good standing of the WAGA (individual
or club).
1. All entries must be filed on the official Entry Application form electronically at www.womensalabamagolf.com All entries must be submitted by Monday, April 6, 2009. 2. An entry fee of $150.00 must accompany the entry application. (Fee includes practice round, cart, three days of golf, club storage, range balls, Welcome Dinner and awards). 3. Applications will not be accepted without applicant's GHIN number. For players not on GHIN please contact Alyson Mitchell alyson@bamagolf.com or (205)979-2550 4. Contestants will be notified of acceptance, or placement on the waiting list by e-mail, by Monday, April 6th. 5. Withdrawal: If an applicant withdraws prior to 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2009, the entry fee will be refunded upon request, subject to a $25.00 administrative fee. No refunds will be made for withdrawals after this date. 6. The field is limited to the 84 entries with the lowest USGA Handicap Index's received by 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2009.
The Senior Championship shall be a three (3) day stroke play event with a shotgun start. Flights of twelve (12) will be established by handicap index for all three days. There will be two Championship Flights, which will consist of the lowest 24 handicaps. Ties for the 24th spot will be broken by order in which entry forms were received. Prizes will be awarded to the three (3) lowest scores in each Flight. Playoff for ties will begin on Hole#1. All competition will be played in accordance with the United States Golf Association Rules of Golf. Only members of the WAGA Rules Committee shall be authorized to give rulings during play of a championship. Final decisions are left to the Championship Committee. Any entry is subject to rejection at any time, either before or during the Championship, by the Championship Committee of the Women's Alabama Golf Association.
The Jeannette Sell Senior Championship Trophy shall be awarded to the contestant having the lowest gross score upon completion of 54 holes. Ties will be broken by immediate hole-by-hole play-off. The Mary McCutcheon Medalist Trophy shall be awarded to the contestant having the lowest gross score upon completion of 36 holes. Any ties shall be broken by an immediate hole-by-hole play-off. If that is not possible, the tie shall be broken in the third round on a hole-by-hole basis. The Mattie DeVan Trophy shall be awarded to the contestant having the lowest net score upon completion of 36 holes. Any ties shall be broken by an immediate hole-by-hole play-off. The Super Senior Trophy shall be awarded to the contestant 65 years or older with the lowest gross score of the three-day completion. Ties will be broken by an immediate hole-by-hole play-off.
Each contestant must register in person on Sunday, April 19 between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Failure to do so may result in rejection of a contestant's entry. Conflicts with this policy must be approved in advance by Alyson Mitchell, alyson@bamagolf.com or (205) 979-2550.

Practice rounds are available 2 weeks prior to the event. To schedule a tee time please call Arrowhead Country Club Golf Shop (334)272-7188. Some rounds are available on Sunday April 19. Practice round golf carts are $20.
Accepted payment methods in golf shop: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, checks, and some club reciprocals. NO cash. Head PGA Professional- Fred Holton Course Superintendent- Jamie Shaddix General Manager- John Cargill Breakfast will be offered in the clubhouse. Lunch Buffet daily (except Monday but available off menu)
All contestants must use Arrowhead Country Club carts.
No mini skirts, short shorts, jeans or tank tops. Non-metal spikes required.
The Social Fee will be $25.00.
